Welcome to Meridian

Meridian is an online platform that provides therapeutic tools for mental health professionals and individuals exploring self-guided therapeutic techniques. Our current tools include bilateral stimulation (used in EMDR therapy) and guided breathwork, delivered through secure video sessions.

By creating an account and using Meridian, you agree to these terms.

What Meridian is (and what it is not)

Meridian is a tool. It provides visual pacing, bilateral stimulation, and video communication to support therapeutic work. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations.

Meridian is not a medical device. It has not been evaluated or approved by any regulatory body for the treatment of any condition. The tools we provide are designed to support trained professionals in their practice and to offer individuals access to well-established self-care techniques.

For therapists

If you use Meridian in your clinical practice, you are responsible for applying your professional training and clinical judgment when using our tools. You decide which techniques are appropriate for your clients, when to use them, and how to adapt the session to your client's needs.

Meridian does not replace your expertise. It is an instrument in your hands.

For self-therapy users

If you use Meridian for self-guided sessions, you are responsible for using the tools in a way that feels safe and comfortable for you.

Some techniques, particularly certain breathing patterns, can be physically intense. We include clear indicators within the app to help you understand the intensity level of each exercise. If you experience dizziness, tingling, discomfort, or emotional distress during a session, please stop and return to natural breathing.

Self-guided therapeutic work can sometimes bring up strong emotions or memories. If this happens, consider reaching out to a qualified mental health professional for support.

Health considerations

Certain conditions may make some of our tools unsuitable or require extra caution. If any of the following apply to you, please consult your healthcare provider before using Meridian:

  • Cardiovascular conditions or heart disease
  • Seizure disorders or epilepsy
  • Respiratory conditions such as asthma or COPD
  • Pregnancy
  • Psychiatric conditions, particularly trauma-related disorders (for self-therapy users)
  • Recent surgery or physical injury

This is not an exhaustive list. When in doubt, please check with your doctor.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Each account is for a single person and should not be shared.

We may suspend or close accounts that are used in ways that violate these terms or that put other users at risk.

Limitation of liability

Meridian is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep the platform reliable and safe, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or that the tools will be suitable for every individual or situation.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meridian and its team are not liable for any adverse outcomes, injuries, or damages arising from the use of our platform or its tools. This includes, but is not limited to, outcomes from bilateral stimulation sessions, breathwork exercises, or any other therapeutic technique facilitated through the platform.

By using Meridian, you acknowledge that you assume responsibility for your use of the platform and its tools.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Meridian after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.
